Top 20 Managers of the EFL – 3rd: Neil Harris (Millwall)

Millwall head coach Neil Harris has been voted by you as the 3rd best manager in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have found that you think Harris is the 6th best manager in the Football League. He has moved up 15 places from his 18th place finish on the Top 20 Managers countdown last season.
It was a great achievement for Millwall to be promoted back to the Sky Bet Championship last season but not many expected much from them this season. A good season for the Lions would be consolidating in this league, especially as that was pretty much what they did before. Millwall have never really pulled up any trees in the Championship before, why would they now?
Well Millwall did not get that memo and they ended up being a serious threat in the second half of the season. In the first half they did exactly what you’d expect, they were in the mid-table of the league and making sure they did not get involved in the relegation battle. Millwall fans would have been delighted with just that. But a great run of form in 2018 gave them a serious shot at qualifying for the play-offs though they did eventually miss out and finish in 8th place.
Next season Millwall will be looking to prove this was not a fluke and make sure they do finish in the top six this time.
