Top 20 Managers of the EFL – 4th: Slavisa Jokanovic (Fulham)

Fulham head coach Slavisa Jokanovic has been voted by you as the 4th best manager in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have found that you think Jokanovic is the 4th best manager in the Football League. He has moved up five places from his 9th place finish on this countdown last season.
For a while, Fulham seemed to be suffering a hangover from coming close last season. While they weren’t doing badly, they seemed to be stuck in mid-table and were unable to break into the top quality form needed to break into the top six. It turned out that they were just waiting for their moment and in the second half of the season that came.
In the league, the Cottagers went unbeaten from the 23rd December when they beat Barnsley 2-0 right until the end of the season when they finally succumbed to Birmingham City. That was a stunning 23 game unbeaten run which took them from mid-table anonymity into the play-offs. Even with that loss, it would be fair to say that Fulham are one of the favourites to win the play-offs after that staggering second half of the season.
As we’ve made obvious, Jokanovic’s season with Fulham is not over yet as they must prepare for the play-offs. They will be taking on Derby County in the semi-finals and will hope to progress to the final for a chance at promotion to the Premier League.
