Former Leeds United boss pays for fans’ tattoo

There is a lot of bad blood between Garry Monk and Leeds United fans, after Monk left the club last summer to join fellow Sky Bet Championship side Middlesbrough.

Things did not quite work out particularly well for either parties, with Leeds struggling all season and stumbling to a 13th place finish, whilst Garry Monk failed to keep hold of his job for very long, and he was let go from the club.

His season did end in joy however, after he decided to take charge of Birmingham City, a club who were threatened with relegation to Sky Bet League One.

When Garry Monk took charge of the club, the Blues were in a lot of trouble, and they looked destined for the drop.

And they were not safe until the final day. Birmingham went into their home game with Fulham, who were challenging for automatic promotion to the Premier League, knowing that they needed a victory to guarantee their safety. A victory is exactly what they got, and whilst the majority of Birmingham City fans went wild with celebration, one particular fan had a promise he needed to live up to.

Kevin Tomlinson, who is clearly a massive Birmingham City fan, had promised to get a tattoo of Garry Monk’s face on his backside if he kept the Blues in the second tier.

Not only did he stick by his promise and create a fundraising page in order to pay for the tattoo, but he got a surprise when the Birmingham City boss paid for the tattoo himself.

Monk sent a message to Tomlinson, saying that he had paid for it and all he wanted in return was a picture of proof for him and the rest of the Birmingham fans.
