Nottingham Forest winger Gboly Ariyibi has been told that he’ll be allowed to leave the City Ground on loan next season, according to the Nottingham Post.
The former Chesterfield man has yet to make a first team appearance for Forest, since his move from the Proact Stadium in 2017.
Forest boss Aitor Karanka has said that Ariyibi does have a future in Nottingham, but believes he will flourish on loan next season before he is ready for first team action with the Reds.
The winger spent some time on loan at MK Dons last season.
It was a fairly productive spell in Milton Keynes for Ariyibi, where he made 23 starts and five sub appearances, scoring seven goals.
He also spent time on loan at Northampton Town, but failed to make an impact at Sixfields.
He made three starts and nine substitute appearances, without finding the net, before being sent back to Forest early.
However, Forest will hope Ariyibi can find a club where he can settle and showcase his talent next season.
He’s a player known for his pace and direct attacking intent.
Speaking to the Post, Manager Aitor Karanka said “Gboly is a different situation because he has been out on loan and did not always play.
“The best thing for him might be to go out on loan again, to somewhere where he will play games.
“He needs to go on loan and play some games. Because if you do not play when you are out on loan, it is nothing.”
Despite Karanka’s wish for him to go on loan, Ariyibi won’t be short of suitors in the transfer window.
