It was confirmed earlier today that Simon Grayson had left his role as the manager of Sky Bet League One side Bradford City after just a matter of months in charge.

In a statement on the official club website, the former Sunderland boss said: “After conversations with the owners I have decided to turn down the option to extend my contract. This was an extremely difficult decision as I have enjoyed my time at Valley Parade.”

“I would like to thank everyone at Bradford City, from the owners to the supporters, who have turned out in their numbers both home and away since I have been manager of their club. I wish the club all the best for the future.”

Grayson only took charge at Valley Parade in February, and was unable to turn the fortunes of the club around after the sacking of Stuart McCall.

Bradford City fans certainly are a vocal bunch, and they were quick to take to Twitter following the announcement that Grayson would be leaving the club.
