Carlisle United had a season of some promise in places, however they eventually finished in 10th place in the table – a position that many will hope can be improved next season.
Their 46 games saw the Cumbrians notch 17 wins, hammer out 16 draws and lose 13 games in a campaign that saw them end up eight points adrift of the top-seven and the play-off lottery that leads to promotion to the Sky Bet League One – England’s third-tier of football.
Keith Curle, who is in the process of leaving the Brunton Park outfit, is readying the club for the next campaign and has kick started these preparations for Carlisle United’s 2018/19 with thefollowing release of the Cumbrian club’s list of retained players.
Carlisle United retained player list:
Nicky Adams, Jack Egan, Mark Ellis, Danny Grainger, Clint Hill, Jordan Holt and Luke Joyce.
Carlisle United released players list:
Morgan Bacon, Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Reggie Lambe, Shaun Miller, Samir Nabi, John O’Sullivan and Cameron Salkeld.
Outgoing manager Keith Curle said of the decision, “I’d like to go on record with a thank you to all of the players who have played for me through my time with the club. This season, yet again, every single one of them bought into what we have tried to do at this club and the dressing room has been a pleasure to deal with.”
Carlisle United players in-contract and signed deals/triggered clauses:
Richie Bennett, Jamie Devitt, Kelvin Etuhu, Hallam Hope, Mike Jones, Jason Kennedy, Gary Liddle, Tom Parkes and Cole Stockton.
