Adama Traore, Middlesbrough star wanted by North East rivals

Middlesbrough star wanted by North East rivals

Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore is reportedly the subject of interest from Boro’s North East Rivals Newcastle United, according to the print edition of the Daily Mirror (Via the Shields Gazette).

The Magpies are reported to be interest in the pacey winger, who has also been linked with a move to Premier League giants Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has had a brilliant season at the Riverside, and his performances have helped Middlesbrough into the Play-Offs.

Traore’s season was recognised by the club yesterday, as he picked up three awards at the club’s end of season awards night.

The Teeside club will face Aston Villa over two legs in the Semi Finals, with the winner going onto Wembley to face either Derby County or Fulham for a place in the Premier League.

It seems that whatever happens in the Play-Offs for Boro’, Adama Traore will be playing in the top flight, as he looks destined to leave the club.

The Spanish winger came through the youth set-up at football giants Barcelona, but struggled to make an impact at the Catalan club. He appeared just once for the Spanish giants, instead featuring several times for their reserve team.

In 2015, he left Spain, joining Aston Villa, who were in the Premier League at the time, for a fee of £7 million. However, his potential was known by Barcelona, who inserted a buy back clause into the transfer deal.

A year later, Traore made the move north, joining Middlesbrough. He has been at the North East club ever since, but looks destined to move this summer.
