Fulham fans react to missing out on automatic promotion

Fulham will have to settle the Play-Offs after their 3-1 defeat to Birmingham City at St. Andrews yesterday.

Fulham’s defeat meant Cardiff City finished in 2nd in the league and got promoted to the Premier League, despite being held to a 0-0 draw at home to Reading.

Nevertheless, the Cottagers have been on an excellent run of form and will be confident going into the Play-Offs, even though they lost yesterday. They will face Derby County in the Play-Off semi-finals. Middlesbrough will face Aston Villa in the other ties.

Fulham lost in the Play-Offs last season in the semi-finals to Reading and will be hoping to use their experience from last time to help them make the next step into the Premier League.

You get the impression that this is a huge opportunity for the Craven Cottage side as a number of their key players’ future depends on it. Players like Tom Cairney, Ryan Fredericks and Ryan Sessegnon could leave this summer if they fail to get promoted to the Premier League. Their chances of signing Alexsander Mitrovic on a permanent deal from Newcastle United may also be dented.

Fulham will be disappointed with their loss yesterday but will be ready for the Play-Offs. Here is how their fans reacted on twitter to missing out on automatic promotion-
