Leeds United midfielder confirms imminent return to Elland Road

Leeds United’s on-loan midfielder Mateusz Klich has confirmed that he will return to Elland Road and be given another chance at the club next season, according to Dutch newspaper AD (Via Sport Witness).

The Polish midfielder made the move to Leeds United last summer, and things did not quite work out. He was unable to find a way into the team and instead he was loaned to the Dutch top flight, where he joined FC Utrecht.

Klich had previously moved to Leeds from the Eredivise, making a move from FC Twente.

He had come highly rated, and Leeds United fans were expecting a lot, but things never really came through.

But it seems that he is set to be given another chance at the Yorkshire club.

Speaking to the aforementioned Dutch media outlet, Klich said:  “I have spoken with them, they want me back.”

“The chance that I return is 99 percent, almost a hundred. I still have a two year contract. I have unfinished business there.”

This will be music to Leeds United fans’ ears, as many of them have called for Klich to be given his chance at Elland Road.

Klich’s loan spell at the Dutch side has been successful for both parties. The 27-year-old has stayed match fit, getting a good spell in the team, and he even scored the only goal of the game to help Utrecht to a 1-0 victory over VVV Venlo.

Leeds will be welcoming back a wealth of experience when he does arrive back at the club. Klich has played over 200 club games in his career, as well as featuring 10 times for his native Poland.
