“It’s now or never,” says Fulham star

Fulham star Tom Cairney has said it is a case of now or never for Fulham as they bid to achieve promotion back to the Premier League.

Fulham head into the final weekend of the season with their fate out of their own hands. They must beat Birmingham City at St Andrews and hope that Reading can get a result against Cardiff City, otherwise they will have to settle for a place in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs.

The West London club are currently unbeaten in 23 games, and have been a joy to watch this season. Their performances, both as a team and individually, have led to a lot of interest coming from Premier League clubs.

Players such as Ryan Sessegnon are destined for bigger and better things, whilst Tom Cairney himself has been linked with a move to the top flight for over a year now.

Because of this, Cairney stresses the importance of achieving promotion this season.

As quoted by Sky Sports, Cairney said: “It’s now or never because we’ve some good players and a few teams might be after them in the summer.

“To keep this team together, we need to do it now. I just think we’re attracting a lot of attention and so are our players.”

If they are to go up, it would be greatly important to keep as many of the squad together as possible, and Tom Cairney thinks that they could really achieve something in the top flight.

T”o go half a season unbeaten shows we’re ready. We would not go up to struggle,” he said.

“With the owners, you would go up and compete, not just survive. This is a Premier League club and it’s down to us to get us there.
