Senior Norwich City man departs for Coventry City

Norwich City’s chief scout Chris Badlan has left his role with the East Anglia club to join Sky Bet League Two side Coventry City.

Badlan previously worked as Head of European Scouting at Carrow Road, but will take up his new role at the Sky Blues as the club’s Head of Recruitment.

The news was confirmed by Coventry City’s official club website.

Chris Badlan joined Norwich City in May 2017. Beforehand, he had a number of jobs at recently crowned champions Wolverhampton Wanderers. His first job at the Molineux club was as a Technical Recruitment Officer, before he accepted the role as Head of Emerging talent.

Speaking about his arrival at Coventry, Badlan told the club’s offical site: “I’m very pleased to have been appointed Head of Recruitment at Coventry City.

“It is a fantastic club, and I am looking forward to starting in the role. Obviously we are approaching a key time of year, and I will be working closely with Mark Robins and the club in this busy period.”

And Badlan is not the only one who is pleased with the deal. Coventry City Chief Executive Dave Boddy was also thrilled with the appointment.

He said: “We are delighted to bring Chris to the club as Head of Recruitment, leading our Recruitment Department.

“Chris has experience with top clubs in England and starts with us immediately. He is very enthusiastic about the role and will be a real asset for Coventry City, with a strong network of contacts both in this country and abroad.”
