QPR manager excited for trip to Leeds United

Queens Park Rangers manage Ian Holloway has encouraged his Rangers side to put in a good display at Leeds United this weekend, and finish the Sky Bet Championship season on a high.

Sunday’s game sees both teams head into it with nothing to play for, but QPR know that a victory will see them move about Leeds United and end the season in 14th place.

This is something that Holloway is desperate to see happen, especially given his side’s poor away form this season.

“We haven’t got the points on the road but I feel in the last few months our fans are liking our players and I feel they have enjoyed watching them grow,” he said, speaking to the club’s official website.

“Last year at Elland Road we drew and produced a brilliant performance. We should have won. The people who brought me up made believe that you are good enough if you are proud of yourself and that’s what I want to pass on to the lads.”

Despite the fact that neither team is playing for anything, over 30,000 fans are expected at Elland Road on Sunday, in what is bound to be an electric atmosphere for Leeds’ final home game, and the QPR boss has called on his players to show him that they can handle an atmosphere like it.

“I’ve got a few things to look at but it’s a wonderful test for the boys to show me if they can handle the atmosphere at Elland Road – can they go there and play some wonderful football which I want them to do,” he said.

The game kicks off at 12:30pm on Sunday.
