Leeds United’s League Two target – who is he

Earlier today, the72 reported that Leeds United were interesting in signing Cheltenham Town striker Mohamed Eisa, who has impressed for the Sky Bet League Two club this season.

Leeds United are not alone in the pursuit of the Sudanese striker, with a number of unnamed Premier League clubs also monitoring his form.

Eisa is just 23-years-old, but scored an impressive 23 goals in the fourth tier for current club Cheltenham, in what was his first season in the Football League.

He joined the club from Greenwich Borough, a team who play in the Isthmian League South Division. During his time at the club, Eisa scored 57 goal in just 100 games, sparking interest from a number of teams in the Football League.

But it was Cheltenham who took the chance, signing him originally on a one year deal before tying him down until 2020 in August. Despite signing that contract, it seems that the Sky Bet League Two side are destined to lose him, although it will be a nice profit for the club, seeing as they signed him on a free.

Prior to his time at Greenwich Borough, Eisa also represented Dartford and Corinthian. The Cheltenham front man is a graduate of the Pro Touch Soccer Academy, where he played alongside his brother, who is currently on the books at Shrewsbury Town.

His form this season was noticed, and he was nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Year award.

Mohamed Eisa was born in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, before moving to London when he was just nine years old.
