QPR defender to make contract decision next week

Queens Park Rangers have given left back Jack Robinson until next week to decide on whether his future lies at Loftus Road or elsewhere, according to West London Sport.

The defender’s current deal expires in the summer, and he will be available to leave on a free transfer if he doesn’t sign a new deal with QPR.

Robinson joined the Hoops from Liverpool in 2014, but was sent on loan to Huddersfield before he made an appearance for the club.

He has had a turbulent career at Loftus Road, and last year he was told by manager Ian Holloway that he was free to find a new club as he didn’t feature in the former Blackpool boss’ plans.

However, after a resurgence in form and match fitness, Robinson has made the left back spot his own and has had a fantastic season for the London club.

It may be a risk for Robinson to assess options outside of QPR, as their offer may be retracted if he does not sign a new deal in the near future.

Robinson has made 34 appearances for the club this season, but he could have played his final game for Holloway’s side if he decides not to sign a new deal.

Rangers have already announced that Jamie Mackie and James Perch’s contracts will not be renewed at the end of the season, and it looks as if the former Liverpool defender will be next out of the door.

Nedum Onuoha has also yet to sign a new deal, as he could also leave the club on a free.

QPR will be hoping that Robinson stays at Loftus Road, but he wont be short of suitors this summer.
