Leeds United fans react to links with 21-goal winger

Earlier today, the72 reported that Leeds United are in talks with Crusaders over the signing Gavin Whyte.

The Northern Irish winger scored an impressive 21 goals this season, helping his side lift the Irish Premier League.

The winger is just 22-years-old, and is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in the Irish League. He has played over there for the whole of his career, but has previously had trials at both Celtic and Everton.

And Leeds are not the only club chasing the winger, with Scottish Premier League side Rangers also said to be interested in securing his services.

He may not be particularly well known to Leeds United fans, but the fact that he looks up to Stuart Dallas as a role model will stand him in got stead with the Whites’ supporters.

A few Leeds fans took to Twitter when the rumours were first reported to share their views on the link.

Here’s a quick look at what some of them had to say:

Leeds United are notorious for having quick, pacey wingers without any end product. This Leeds fan has his fingers crossed that finally the club are being linked with a speedy winger who can provide the end product.

They may have been ranked as the fifth most depressing club to support by Four Four Two, but some Leeds fans’ optimism really is something to be admired.

This Leeds supporter thinks that the step up to the Sky Bet Championship would be too big for Whyte.
