Leeds United, Three strikers Leeds United should sign this summer

Three strikers Leeds United should sign this summer

There have been many problems at Elland Road this season, but without question, one of the biggest problems has been a lack of goals.

Leeds signed a number of strikers last season, including Caleb Ekuban, but they have all failed to reach the heights, and yet again the Whites are in the transfer market looking for a proven goal scorer.

We take a look at three potential strikers that Leeds could bring into the club this summer and they look for goals:

1) Ross McCormack

Ross McCormack has plenty of history with Leeds United, so why not reunite him with his former club? He wasn’t just a captain during his time at the club, he was a proven goal scorer. His goals may have dried up in recent years, but he is having a difficult time at Aston Villa. After a massive fallout with boss Steve Bruce, McCormack hasn’t featured in the league for the promotion chasers all season, and he will be certainly looking for a move closer to home this time, rather than another loan move to Australia. He proved during his time down under that he still has goals in him, so why don’t Leeds take a chance?

2) Jack Marriott

Jack Marriott is one of the most talked about players in the Football League at the moment, and there’s a justified reason for that. The Peterborough United striker is going to win the Sky Bet League One golden boot (baring a Brett Pitman double hat-trick on the final day), and he fully deserves it. He has bagged 27 goals in the league this season, and 33 goals in all competitions. Baring in mind that this was his first season in the third tier, it’s an extremely impressive achievement. He may be a bit of a Football League rookie, but you’ve got to take risks in football, and Jack Marriott is a risk that may very well pay off.

3) Oli McBurnie

Leeds United have been linked with the Swansea City striker for a long time now, but his future still remains up in the air. He is currently on-loan at Barnsley, having been taken to Oakwell by current Leeds boss Paul Heckingbottom. His goals have given Barnsley a real chance of survival in the second tier, proving that he knows where the back of the net is. He admitted today that he doesn’t know what the future holds for him, but that he will sit down with parent club Swansea at the end of the season.
