Leeds United target to sit down and discuss future

Leeds United target Oli McBurnie has confirmed that he will sit down with Swansea City at the end of the season and discuss his future at the club, according to Wales Online.

The young striker is currently on-loan at Sky Bet Championship strugglers Barnsley, and his goals have really given the Tykes a good chance of staying in the second tier.

It was current Leeds manager Paul Heckingbottom that took him to Oakwell, and the Whites have emerged as one of the favourites to secure his signature on a permanent basis.

That being said, it may not be as straightforward as it seems, as the on-loan Swansea man may have plans to remain at the Welsh club.

Speaking with the Yorkshire Post, McBurnie spoke of his desire to play in the Premier League.

“Of course, playing in the Premier League has always been a goal,” he said.

“I have got another year left at Swansea and we will sit down and see what the best options for me are.”

Right now, Oli McBurnie is just focussed on the very imminent future. Barnsley have a massive game at Derby County this weekend, where they know they need to pick up some points in order to remain in the Sky Bet Championship.

He said: “At the minute, all I am focusing on is Barnsley and on looking to keep Barnsley in this division. The summer feels miles away and we will cross that bridge when we come to it and see what happens.”
