Former Leeds United target scoops five end of season awards

Shrewsbury Town midfielder Jon Nolan was linked with a move to Leeds United a few months back, and the Yorkshire club will be keen to re-invigorate their interest in the coming weeks, after the Shrews man won FIVE awards at the club’s end of season awards night.

The interest in Nolan from Leeds was first reported by the Sun back in March, and interest since then has seemed to die down, but HITC report that he has done more than enough to merit the interest from the great Yorkshire club.

Shrewsbury Town have been one of the surprises packages in the entire Football League this season. Before the season began, they were relegation favourites, yet they spent the majority of the season battling away with Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers for automatic promotion.

Ultimately, they fell short, but a third place finish in the third tier is something that everyone associated with the club can be proud of.

They will now look forward to the Play-Offs, in what could potentially be the last few games under the leadership of Paul Hurst amidst interest from Ipswich Town.

It was Jon Nolan’s first season at the club, but he was the standout player for the Shrews. He got a place in the team of the year, and he cleared up at the Shrewsbury Town end of season awards.

The Shropshire Star reported that the former Chesterfield man won Official Supporters’ Club player of the year, the OSC away player of the year, family stand player of the year, Away Travel Club player of the year and Super Blues player of the year.
