Sky Bet Championship club Bristol City could face charges from English Premier League giants Liverpool for not selecting on loan winger Ryan Kent in recent weeks according to Bristol Live.
The 21-year-old Oldham born wideman joined The Robins in January on a loan deal for the remainder of the season but has not featured for the club since their 1-0 home defeat to Brentford at the start of the month.
It is understood that parent club Liverpool have a clause in the loan agreement which states that the player should be involved in Bristol City’s matchday 18-man squad. It is believed that The Robins may have to pay around £300,000 to the Merseyside club with Kent having been absent from their squad for the last four matches.
Kent is a product of the Liverpool academy system and the youngster has gone on to make his senior debut for the club, although, that solitary outing did come in an FA Cup Third Round tie over two years ago.
In recent times, the player has spent time on loan at Coventry City, Barnsley and German club SC Freiburg prior to his latest temporary move to Ashton Gate. During his time with Bristol City, Kent has made 11 appearances for The Robins and is yet to net his first goal for the club. With the season coming to a close, the winger may have made his last appearance for Lee Johnson’s men.
