Could Hull City swoop for Scottish Premier League star again in the summer?

Hull City saw multiple bids for Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna in January turned down, according to BBC Sport.

The Tigers’ boss Nigel Adkins is believed to be a big fan of the highly-rated centre-back and sees him as a good long-term option for Hull City.

Hull captain Michael Dawson is expected to leave them at the end of the season when his contract expires, with Nottingham Forest his most likely destination. This would leave a gap in Hull’s defence so could they be tempted to move for McKenna again?

McKenna has been in fine form for Aberdeen this season in the Scottish Premier League and he has not gone unnoticed. He made his debut for the Scotland national team in March against Costa Rica.

The 21-year-old is a product of the Aberdeen academy and this has been the campaign where he has made his breakthrough into the first-team. He has spent the last two seasons on loan at Alloa Athletic and Ayr United, where he has gained first-team experience.

He appears the most likely player for Hull City to go for to replace Dawson, but Aberdeen will not sell him on the cheap and the Tigers will have to put their hand in their pockets if they are serious about luring him to the KCOM Stadium.

Hull have today been linked with a move for Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Christian Walton. It seems like Adkins is also plotting summer transfers in preparation for next season.
