Leeds United planning big summer transfer raid on Yorkshire rivals

Leeds United are interested in signing Oli McBurnie, Andy Yiadom and Joe Williams in the summer, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

Paul Heckingbottom is looking to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad in the summer and sees this trio as three possible signings.

Andy Yiadom is out of contract in the summer and knows Heckingbottom well from their time at Oakwell together. The Ghanaian right-back is expected to leave at the expiry of his contract and will have a whole host of clubs looking to snap him up.

He joined Barnsley in 2016 from League Two side Barnet and adapted well to life in the Championship. He was a summer target for Premier League duo Swansea City and Huddersfield Town.

Oli McBurnie is another target for the Whites. He is on loan at Barnsley from Swansea and has been on fire for them since he move in January. He has scored 8 goals and if the Tykes can stay up this season, then they will have a lot to thank him for.

Leeds are also said to be keeping tabs on Joe Williams. The promising midfielder was snapped up by Heckingbottom for Barnsley last summer and impressed for them this season. He has a big future and Everton may be reluctant to sell him on a permanent deal.

It is expected to be a summer of transition at Elland Road and these potential signings would certainly strengthen their side.
