EPL new boys Wolves fancied for top half finish

Newly promoted Sky Bet Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers are being tipped to do well in their first season back in the English Premier League in 2018/2019 according to the latest odds provided by English Football League sponsors Sky Bet.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side secured promotion from the second tier on Saturday with four games to spare after nearest promotion rivals Fulham could only draw 1-1 with Brentford in a West London derby at Craven Cottage.

Wolves will now play in the English Premier League for the first time since the 2011/2012 season, a campaign which saw the club finish bottom after winning just five of their 38 matches.

According to the latest odds from English Football League sponsors Sky Bet, Santo’s side are expected to do much better this time around. The betting firm have Wolves listed at odds of just 10/11 to finish in the top half of the table next season while relegation odds of 6/1 will surely see them some way from being favourites for the drop.

For those ambitious punters who think Wolves could ‘do a Leicester City’ and win the English Premier League title, the Molineux-based club can be backed at whopping odds of 500/1 which should be noted is significantly less than Burnley.

Wolves need just four points to make sure of landing the Sky Bet Championship title. They face local rivals Birmingham City at home this lunchtime.
