Hull City, PREVIEW: Hull City v Sheffield Wednesday

PREVIEW: Hull City v Sheffield Wednesday

Hull City will be looking to extend their recent good run in the Sky Bet Championship when Sheffield Wednesday are the visitors to The KCOM Stadium this afternoon.

The Tigers are unbeaten in their last four league matches, a run which has virtually ended the threat of relegation to Sky Bet League One this season. Nigel Adkins’ men have also won their last two matches against both Queens Park Rangers and Burton Albion.

Tigers boss Adkins has no new injury concerns to contend with for the match against Wednesday. He is expected to rotate his squad to allow all of his players to enjoy some game time between now and the end of the season with little left to play for other than pride. Jarrod Bowen, Jon Toral and Abel Hernandez are some of those players who could be recalled to the starting XI.

Sheffield Wednesday arrive on Humberside having suffered back-to-back league defeats and manager Jos Luhukay may again have to cope without influential midfielder Barry Bannan who has a groin injury. In-form duo Lucas Joao and Atdhe Nuhiu are struggling with knocks and could be given late fitness tests.

Daniel Pudil is also rated doubtful while there is no real reduction to The Owls’ lengthy injury list with the likes of Keiren Westwood, Joost van Aken, Morgan Fox, Sam Hutchinson and Gary Hooper all sidelined.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 3pm and all of the post-match reaction can be found on our website with the game being our feature match of the day.
