Five players Wigan Athletic should sign in the summer

Wigan Athletic have had an impressive season under Paul Cook and have made some very astute signings. He are five more they should target in the summer-

Josh Morris, Scunthorpe United- The left winger has had another brilliant season for Scunthorpe and has scored 11 goals so far, building on the 20 he got in the last campaign. With it looking like Wigan will be in the Championship next season, Morris would be a very good signing in preparation.

Ryan Ledson, Oxford United- Highly-rated midfielder who has been with Oxford since August 2016. He has been excellent for the League One side this season and has had interest in him from Championship. Wigan should snap up the 20-year-old in the summer as would slot in nicely into their team.

Eoin Doyle, Preston North End- The Irish striker has scored 14 goals on loan at Oldham Athletic this season. Wigan boss Paul Cook has signed him twice before for Chesterfield and Portsmouth. If Wigan do go up, Doyle would be a good signing as he would offer them another option going forward and has scored goals at Championship level before.

Ellis Harrison, Bristol Rovers- The 24-year-old forward has scored 12 goals in League One this season for Bristol Rovers and is another player who would be a decent long-term option for Wigan. He has a bright future in the Football League ahead of him.

Matt Mills, Nottingham Forest- He is out of contract at Barnsley in the summer and would be a shrewd free transfer signing by Wigan. He has bags of Championship experience which would be useful for the Latics. He has previously played for Leicester City, Bolton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest.
