With the League Two play-off race so close, who’s going to fall short?

With just four games left to play for the majority of the League (although some do have as many as six!), the race to secure a play-off position is as close as it’s ever been.

Let’s take a look at the remaining schedules for Lincoln City, Coventry City, Mansfield Town, Swindon Town, Carlisle United and Colchester United who are incredibly all separated by just six points as the season comes too its close.

Lincoln City

The Imps are sitting in the most comfortable position out of the six aforementioned teams – they are one of the few sides who have six games left to play and, coupled together with the three-point cushion they’ve already got, look the most certain to secure a play-off spot.

Having said that, they arguably have the toughest run-in – home games against Wycombe and Colchester, and tricky away trips to Coventry and Accrington will mean Danny Cowley’s mean will have to give all they have until the end of the season.

Coventry City

Coventry recently suffered one (if not ‘the’) worst defeat of the season – losing 2-6 at home to lowly Yeovil in what was their heaviest defeat for some years. A loss to Notts County last time out has put the Sky Blues on the cusp of the play-offs – being inside by just one point.

However, Coventry’s schedule should give them a fighting chance to remain where they are: home games against Stevenage and Morecambe, who are both finishing mid-tale, and away ties to Crawley and Cheltenham, also teams who are set for a mid-table finish. With so much riding on games, why not make them even more interesting and have a flutter using a 1xBet Promo Code.

Mansfield Town

Its a testament to how well the Stags started the season that despite having won none of there past nine games (no, that’s not a typo!) they still sit with a fighting chance of making it to the post-season.

When it matters most it seems like John Radford’s men have gone missing – they’ve lost four of their last five games, conceding ten goals in the process. Their next game is an away trip to bottom-of-the-table Chesterfield – a must-win if the club from Nottinghamshire are to have any chance of play-off football.

Swindon Town

Another team that are struggling to get a string of results together is Lee Power’s side from Wiltshire. With one win in their past eight games, and just two clean sheets in their previous 13 outings, the Robins are really going to have to hit the ground running in their final four games.

A home tie against lowly Grimsby Town really is a must-win game and, seeing as their last game of the season is against Accrington, it is likely they are going to need results to go their way to get into the play-offs.

It really is set to go right down the final day of the season in what is always a tense and exciting league.  Mathematically there are four sides who could still make it into the play-offs – who’s going to hit form at the right time, and who’s going to bottle it?
