Former West Ham United and Leyton Orient midfielder on trial at QPR

Sky Bet Championship club Queens Park Rangers are currently running the rule over former West Ham United and Leyton Orient midfielder Henry Ochieng according to Get West London.

The 19-year-old Redbridge born midfielder is currently a free agent after recently being released by National League club Orient.

It has been reported that QPR have taken Ochieng on trial and the player must impress for The R’s in their Under-23 side if he is to earn himself a deal at Loftus Road.

The midfielder spent the best part of six years with West Ham United as an apprentice but Ochieng was released by The Hammers in 2015 and the player signed a scholarship with Leyton Orient. Ochieng went on to make a handful of senior outings for The O’s although he struggled to become a first team regular at Brisbane Road.

With the East Londoners having struggled in their first season in The National League, the club were unable to offer the player regular game time to help his development and Ochieng was released by Orient last month to enable him to find a new club.

Ochieng made his first appearance for QPR Under-23s this afternoon as they drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest Under-23s at Harlington. The youngster played the full 90 minutes for Paul Hall’s side and he will now hope for a second opportunity to impress.
