The Cherries have been linked with making a move for the Ivorian international who represented his country at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Gradel who spent one season on loan at Dean Court in the 2007-2008 season currently plays at Saint-Etienne after spells at both Leeds and Leicester. A move for the pacey winger would seem rather left-field from Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe who has plenty of quality in the wide areas with Matt Ritchie, Marc Pugh, Ryan Fraser and new signing Junior Stanislas battling to fill the two wing spots. Howe likes to have pace and skill down the flanks in his expansive brand of football and adding an international of Gradel’s calibre could make players thrive with further competition for places.
Howe keeps his cards firmly to his chest, so with this possible target and others it is a case of wait and see as he builds a squad that attempts to beat the 10th placed finish of last season.
