Hearts set to make summer move for Hull City goalkeeper

Hearts are set to make a summer move for Hull City goalkeeper Allan McGregor, according to The Sun.

The 36-year-old is out of contract at Hull in the summer and looks set to leave them on a free transfer. A return to Scotland could be on the cards for him, with Hearts preparing a move.

McGregor is a Scotland international and has played in the Scottish Premier League before. He started his career at his local team, Rangers, and went onto play over 200 games for them. He left them in 2012 when they had their financial difficulties and joined Besiktas on a free transfer.

His time in Turkey was short lived and he returned to Britain in 2013 to sign for newly promoted Premier League side Hull City for £1.5 million. He helped the Tigers get to the FA Cup final and stay up in the top flight in his first season.

He lost his number one spot at Hull last season and was loaned out to Cardiff City. However, with his Hull career looking over, he has forced his way back into their first-team in this campaign and has been their starting goalkeeper all season.

McGregor is expected to leave the Tigers this summer though as they look to reduce their wage bill. A return to Scotladn is likely with Hearts a potential destination. You also cannot rule out Rangers making a move for their former goalkeeper.
