Reported Leeds United transfer target Harry Cochrane is poised to sign a new long term deal with Scottish Premiership club Hearts according to the Daily Record.
The 16-year-old Glasgow born midfielder has starred for The Jambos since making his first team debut for the club in September as the Edinburgh-based club lost 2-1 to Dundee at Dens Park.
A number of clubs are believed to be weighing up summer moves for the youngster including Sky Bet Championship club Leeds United, however it has now been reported that Cochrane is set to sign a new contract at Tynecastle as Hearts look to retain the services of their most talented young players.
Scouts from Leeds United are thought to have watched Cochrane in action while English Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion are also said to be interested in the teenager.
Cochrane started his career as a scholar with Glasgow giants Rangers before moving to Hearts at the age of 12. The midfielder signed his first professional deal with The Jambos just last summer but his emergence in the senior squad has seen manager Craig Levein move swiftly to reward Cochrane with improved terms to that contract.
The player has made 20 first team appearances for Hearts this term in which he scored his first professional goal in the shock 4-0 home victory over Celtic in December.
